Sooooo sleepy (part 2-ish)

I don't mean for Finn to be the "star" of this blog, but lately it seems he is the one that I see the most of.... So, same kid, same story... Good thing his highchair is so deluxe that it accommodates a good nap every now and then. He sure is cute though!!

Eggplant yumminess

I am not a fan of eggplant, but this week may have changed my mind. Gloria, my sweet mother-in-law made the most fabulous baked eggplant parmesan and we (yes, even ME) LOVED it.

Finn was lucky enough to get the left overs for lunch and he finished the meal by licking his plate. YUM!! That sums it all!! What a meal!! (amongest many I might add...)

Licking the plate

Getting a drinkie poo

Now THAT is one satisfied customer!!!!

I love my in-laws!!!

Skiing with Grandpops

Eric, Grandpops and the boys went night skiing at Liberty. The boys have new skis and boots and it was time to break them in. Grandpops hasn't hit the slopes in a while so it was a momentous occasion for all! So fun to have them all skiing together. I love family!!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snooooow... OR

The Real Blizzard(s) of 2010

I can't begin to describe the snow storms we had last week. It pained me to miss the many photo opportunities for my blog and memory. The first storm came over the weekend and dumped a little over 2 feet of snow. The second storm came in the middle of the week and dumped another foot plus or so of snow. This is record breaking. We had not had more snow around these parts in about 100 years. We were out of power for a couple of days, but thankfully we have a generator and managed to stay warm and happy while our poor neighbors sat cold in their homes. Eric put our jeep to good use and pulled out many a friend and even a frienemy or two. He even pulled off a Superbowl party. I heard it was fun. Yeah Saints!!! (O:

The clean up has begun, the kids have been out of school for a WEEK and the grocery stores are trying to restock their empty shelves. My parents barely got out of here and my in-laws took the red eye only to be welcomed by the beginning of "Round Two". Thank goodness they got here....

The kids have really enjoyed the snow. I can't say the same, but it is only because I am stuck to my bed and the snow makes it all the more impossible to get out... I can't stand to be cold right now..Ick!! This is a very memorable winter as of yet. The snow is going to stick around for some time!!! I wish I could have taken pics of some of the icicles off my patio. They were at least 5 feet long if not longer.

On a positive note, it is very beautiful. I love the purity of fresh snow and this snow in particular because it blanketed everything, leaving it truly a winter wonderland.
I am looking forward to spring for many reasons, primarily selfish ones... The Martinis family likes the four seasons, but we really like warmer weather so...... we will just start counting the days and the temps til then!!!

These are from the first storm.

These are from the second storm.

Who knows what is in store for us... more snow next week? So much for global warming.... Should I blame Al Gore for his ignorance or the gopher for seeing his shadow? Ummmmm????

My sweet parents

I want to thank my wonderful parents for helping me and my family after my surgery. I can't remember a time in my adult life where I have had to worry about nothing and really get the rest I need to begin the healing process. My house is warmer, my kids are happier, my mending pile is smaller, my wounds are healing and most importantly.... I am sane and peaceful.

Thank you Dad and Mom. I love you!!!

Sooooo sleepy

Sometimes Finn goes on a sleep strike. Well, for the last couple of days he has been on one and boy.... is he sleepy. The result of a sleep strike is.... a nap here. What a cutie!!!

My advice, tomorrow at 1:00p.m., sleep in your crib. It is much more comfy!!!

Tate's Birthday Party

We managed to squeak in Tate's birthday party before my hospitalization. He wanted to go to Shadowland (of course). He had a great turn out and a lot of fun. He came in 3rd for one game and Coleman came in 2nd. Gabe came in 22nd and 25th. Wow!! That is progress!! (O: I was glad to check it off my list and so happy that he enjoyed himself and had fun with his brothers and friends.

Happy birthday sweet Tate. We love love love YOU!!
