Cunningham Falls

The weather has been unseasonably warm and extremely beautiful. Really amazing. On Saturday we went to hike Cunningham Falls. We didn't even need jackets. It was once again absolutely stunning. The leaves are still around (this is not normal) and they were still as bright, bold and breathtaking as ever.
Cunningham State Park has a little of everything. It is definitely an easy, fun and memorable place to go. We stopped at their aviary and viewed the most up to date, well taken care of birds of prey. The owls were beautiful. I have not ever seen so many species of owls in a place. It was a definite highlight!!!
We then hiked the cliff side to the falls. Marylanders love nice days so there were a lot people, but it was still nice and beautiful. The rule breakers (see pics) loved climbing up the falls and the rule abiders watched from afar. Hopefully Pops got a few good pics as well from below. Oh Coleman....
To end the day, we stopped and dined at Barbara Fritchie Candy Cane Kitchen Restaurant. It is good, down home, country cooking. Everyone left happy and a little food intoxicated. It was a perfect fall day.... again. We love you Grandma Gloria and Grandpops! XOXO

Irresistible
A Child's Calendar
by John Updike
The stripped and shapely
Maple grieves
The ghosts of her
Departed leaves.
The ground is hard,
As hard as stone.
The year is old,
The birds are flown.
And yet the world,
In its distress,
Displays a certain
Loveliness---
Bliss!
