Remembering Christmas.....

First, after looking at my pics I am realizing that I need to learn more about my cameras. Once upon a time I wrote some things about myself on here and one of them was I never read instruction manuals..... I wish I did and I want to, but I assume Eric will and then he will just teach me. That only happens 15% of the time and I end up having to learn by trial and error and error and error. We had a very nice Christmas and all I have is a load of blurry pics to go by. I am a flake. I need more time, more sleep and more patience. I will change. I will.

This year was extra calm for me (especially compared to last year). Maybe it was the Melatonin I gave Tate or the fact that I was prepared, happy and lacked in the stress department. I never seem to get everything done that I want to, but this year we managed to fit in some good service, show love in our home, have two awesome trees, eat a formal-ish dinner in our dining room (our first) and fun enjoy Christmas Eve games as well as a spiritual lesson. Who can beat that? The boys were all happy with their presents and I got a beautiful surprise ring from Eric.

We had a fun Christmas day party with our close friends and got more Christmas cookies (good and bad) than we ever have before. I complain that we never get any and I feel cookie neglected. This year was out of control and boy am I fat. Ick!! We loved them and so did our chickens. (don't tell!!)

I ended the season with a push to get organized. The boys all got an ornament box and I finally started to get all the personal ornaments to the rightful boy. Did I mention that our tree (MY tree) fell this year and either KILLED or damaged a lot of my beautiful ornaments. I know that my ornaments are just things, but I love them and was really sad. I had a strange case of vertigo that day and tried to save the tree only to fall on the floor in a spinning room. I am sure it was quite a site for my boys to see..... Good thing the camera was stolen and the other not charged. To end all things great, Eric polished my silver bells that my Aunt Julie gives us every year.

A couple days after Christmas, we hopped in the car and drove to Maine and suprised the Pavuks. It was hilarious and we had a great time. Eric and I are not spontaneous travelers, so this was extra fun. We didn't get to ski, but hanging out with our best Maine friends was a real treat.

We went to Brettonwoods on New Years and had a lovely dinner. Afterwards we lit a few fireworks and the boys played the Wii. We rang in the new year with the rest of the world watching NYC and finally went to bed. Maybe I will write my reflections of 2011, but probably not. I will say that we got closer as a family in 2011. We had some serious trials, but were blessed with many answered prayers and blessings.

Life is good.

The kids tree.... still needs some work, but I love it!

I see a peeker! Well, hello Gabi!

Another peeker (Phineas Johnny!!).... I think our family room looks nice and simple.

11 years of Tate bliss!!

It seems like yesterday that I brought home this little darling. What a sweet day in our lives. Hard to believe Tate Alexander went from this.......

to this! What a handsome boy!!!

So, to celebrate our 11 years of Tate heaven, I thought I would give 11 reasons why we love and adore him so....

1. Tate did not speak until he was 3 years old. His first word (or rather words) were "My name is Tate." Since then, when he speaks it is to the point, usually thoughtful, mostly important and calm (although he can yell like the best.....). I cherish my conversations with Tate. He is wonderful.

2. Tate is easy to sleep with and is a true cuddler. We have heard that girls like to cuddle and thought we would miss out on this. Tate gives us a good share of cuddling! We love that!

3. Tate is so handsome. We could eat him, he is so cute! He had BIG features as a baby and I thought he would never grow into his face. Well, he sure did and WOW! What a gorgeous boy!

4. Tate is a loving brother. He is very sweet and patient with Finn. Finn loves him dearly. You can often find them cuddled up somewhere, hugging and spending time together. They have shared a room for the past year plus. It is coming to an end, but has been very good for their relationship.

5. Tate is a loyal friend. I love this about him!

6. Tate is very forgiving. This tender, sensitive side of him is going to get him far in life. I often am so amazed at his ability to forgive and forget.

7. Tate is a good sport.

8. Tate has a creative, fun imagination. He is constantly building things, taking things apart and adding to our many piles with homemade guns, crossbows, armor etc. He is great and patient in building with Legos and has many wonderful art projects, pottery etc around the home. I am always amazed!!

9. He gives the BEST kisses and long, sweet hugs. It melts my heart.

10. We can always gauge a movie by listening and watching Tate. If the movie is good and funny, Tate will belly laugh. He is usually more fun to watch or listen to than the movie is. He has a great and mature sense of humor. His smile is contagious! Tate makes life more fun for sure!!

11. Tate strives to chose the right. He doesn't use bad language and is selective with whom he surrounds himself. He never says negative things about others (this does not include his brothers.. lol). He is a righteous boy and a good example to his brothers.

12. ONE TO GROW ON.... Tate is a good son. Eric and I love him so much and am so proud of his successes, talents and accomplishments. Tate has had many struggles in his young life, but he works hard, is open to change and has an amazing presence. We are so blessed to have sweet Tate in our family.

Happy birthday Tate! You are our sunshine!!

wHaT??????????

So, my camera was permanently borrowed in November and my computer went out on December 25th.... the very same day my darling Eric blessed with with a new camera. I went onto iPhoto and did not have one single pic on there since Halloween. That is a serious and awful gap.... I don't like it. Tonight I am going to search for my few Thanksgiving pics from Grandpops and push to get caught up. I hate missing out on life. Blogging is definitely a thing that comes and goes with life and all its happenings. I did find this funny pic though.

This is what Coleman would look like if he were a........ (you fill in the blank!!) Lol!!

Oh computer... where are thou?

My last quick post was on the last day of my computer's hard drive's life. Poor guy... he just couldn't make it so he left us and we miss him. Luckily my computer is getting fixed and is getting a new soul, oops... I mean hard drive. I am picking him up today. It did enable me to clean my kitchen and go through all kinds of drawers and garbage. Now I have the itch to purge.... This is a good thing. So.... Thanksgiving, Christmas, Maine, Pavuks, and Life... I have not forsaken you, just put you on hold. Be patient and love me for who I am. Hee hee!!
